Are you a digital nomad, who recently came to Mongolia? Are you a freelancer, who wants to temporarily change your work environment?

As a digital nomad, you can’t just work at a random coffee shop in Ulaanbaatar.

Your workspace needs a good wifi connection, a bathroom, enough charging spots, and preferably some food.

Here are 4 of the best options in the Sukhbaatar district in UB, which is downtown.

1. THE COFFEE FELLOWS

With 3 locations around the city and the one located within walking distance from the State Department Store is a good spot to sit down for a few hours and get the work done.

There’s a very long list of enjoyable things about this coffee shop.

Getting your work done here, finding your own space is on it, definitely.

The café has ample charging points and is the perfect place to write and work. If you drop by, definitely sample their rotating selection of specialty drip coffees.

But due to its popularity among expats, it is often crowded with customers coming in and out.

They take their coffee seriously.

Offers a full range of specialty coffee drinks, baked goods, and fresh bagels options for breakfast and lunch. Although the coffee is a bit on the pricier side, it is definitely worth it.

As soon as I enter the coffee shop a bunch of expats welcome me especially during the weekend. You may want to work here for a long time! Space is limited inside, so I don’t recommend trying to work from this cafe on the weekend.

Rainy days enjoying a cup of coffee along the window is perfect for street watching in the Coffee Fellows.

2. YELLO

The space is cozy, has fast Wifi, decent coffee. It is also dog-friendly and has a hippy inspired vibe.

Good place to sit alone, have some coffee and get your work done.

It is located upstairs and the sunlight beaming through the wide open windows was a much-welcomed sight.

However, it’s not a big place, but it was quiet when me and my friends were there on a weekend. There are 10–12 tables.

They were not serving food such as sandwiches.

3. CAFE CAMINO

Korean owned coffee shop located right behind the Mungun Zaviya area.

I’d suggest heading over on a weekday and avoiding a bunch of noisy students hanging around. And also suggest staying for 2–3 hours due to coffee brewing.

4. THE LITTLE HEAVEN

This is one of my favorite cafes for digital nomads in Ulaanbaatar, because it’s hidden!

If you are one for aesthetics, The LITTLE HEAVEN is the place for you. The indoor decor is so cozy, outfitted with cute little furniture and plants adorning the walls and even hanging from the ceiling.

The slow coffee movement advocate is staffed with baristas who take the time to check in on you, and are always happy to answer any inquiries about their coffee.

At the corner of the coffee shop, they got a selection of lifestyle products for sale.

Needless to say, they are the only coffee shop offering soy milk lattes within today’s list.

Little heaven has definitely captured my heart with its cozy, curated vibe that will make you feel as if you’re walking into a little store!
